Totally agree that death in racing is something you have to accept and hope never happens. But as far as safety, the amount of money and engineering that goes into the "fuselage" around the drive is ridiculous. They are made with carbon fiber, which happens to be stronger than steel when molded correctly. Also you have to realize that parts on those cars are designed to break in order to absorb energy. So when it looks like a car is being destroyed, almost all of that destruction is suppose to happen.
